Have a Bad Customer?

You work hard for them, taking your time to make sure that every detail is right, going above and beyond. At the end of the project, you present your masterpiece to them, only to have the unthinkable happen.

They begin to belittle and berate your work. They find every tiny thing that could be wrong, and may even imagine things are wrong when they are not. Then, they turn on you. They begin to lash into you, berating your skills, knowledge, and experience. In the end, they refuse to pay you for the work that’s been done.

Bad customers take advantage of innocent contractors by refusing to pay; either because they knew ahead of time that they didn’t have the money or they think that since the work is done now is the time to negotiate a better deal.

Have you ever wanted to find a way to stop them? Do you wish you had known about them before you took the job?
